Tort Reform Up Again in Senate Judiciary Committee
Tort Reform Up Again in Senate Judiciary Committee

The tort reform bill that would place a cap on punitive damages at $350,000 still has not made it to the Senate floor. The bill will be discussed again in the full Senate Judiciary Committee this week. A compromise on a number of issues within the bill is still being worked out by involved parties, including the business community and trial lawyers. Because a bill already passed the House, there is still time for passage before the session ends if the Senate combines the two versions.

We will keep you informed as discussions and progress on the bill continue.
